First-time NYC buyers »

I work quite a bit with first-time buyers and consider it an education process. Aligning all of the pieces of the puzzle so that buyers are ready to go to contract when they find a place they love is paramount. I want my buyers to feel fully educated as to the current marketplace so that they are certian they are getting the very best deal possible based on the their wants and needs. If that means looking at 50 apartments, so be it. Put simply, I want my first-time buyers to be happy and excited when they get their set of keys at the closing table.

Moving to Manhattan can be a daunting task. I have a lot of empathy for buyers relocating -- I was not born in NYC but have lived and raised my family here for over 20 years. Finding the right place (and getting to feel at home) in a short amount of time takes knowledge of the city and a broker willing to put in the elbow grease to make it happen. When I find a place for someone new to the city, I always make sure they are fully armed with info on the best schools, markets, dry cleaners, wine shops, gyms and restaurants in their new neighborhood. That enables the transition to New York City to be as seamless as possible and allows a new resident to hit the ground running.

Pied-a-terre buyers are looking for something special, sexy and architecturally signficant -- or maybe just a place to hang their hat a few days a month for work. Knowing which buildings allow pied-a-terre ownership is a must, and knowing which buildings have that something extra to make coming home to New York like a stay in a luxury hotel, is my specialty.

Within a year of starting in the business, I was honored by the Real Estate Board of New York for the "Deal of the Year," which applauded my perseverance and sharp negotiating skills in a complex transaction. My dedication and tireless work ethic were honed in a lifetime of competitive sports. As a five-time World Champion and Hall of Fame water skier, I was named one of the "100 Greatest Female Athletes of the Century" by Sports Illustrated.

 

Prior to beginning my real estate career, I worked as a broadcast journalist with ESPN, Fox Sports, and Outdoor Life Network. Today, as a Managing Director at Warburg, I represent buyers, sellers, investors and renters of residential properties in all neighborhoods in Manhattan. As a mother of two school age children, I am particularly attuned to the needs and wants of families. Also, having been a former professional athlete myself, I have utilized my unique experience to develop a specialized practice to address the needs of professional athletes.

Aside from being an all-around nice person, Camille is very knowledgeable, engaging and professional. Her attention to detail is amazing. I worked with Camille to rent my apartment, but even though the project was small, Camille treated me as if I was selling a $5 million apartment. That is what impressed me so much. My experience working with Camille was great. I had been renting in NYC and I worked with Camille to buy my first home. The first time we went out to see apartments, we saw a variety of types. Quickly, Camille was able to hone in on the type of apartment that I was looking for. She really understood the types of properties that exactly fit my needs. Camille is a wonderful person to work with. I was going through a very difficult move for me, since my husband had recently passed away and I needed to sell our penthouse apartment. She presented the apartment very creatively by including nearby attractions, shopping, and public transit in the listing. Once the property was sold, she even helped me with moving all my belongings and antiques. When we looked for a new home, she never tried to sell me anything. Instead, she tried to see what I needed and did everything she could to help me find that. Her attitude was lovely, and she was always helpful and cooperative throughout the move.
