Specialties
I focus on helping my clients buy and sell Downtown Manhattan real estate, especially lofts, in the price range from below $1 million to over $10 million.
Downtown, especially West Chelsea, has seen a huge influx of new developments over the past five plus years. I have represented many clients in the purchase of apartments in new developments and I know the benefits (and potential land mines) of purchasing in a new or newly converted building.
I specialize in the Downtown Manhattan market where lofts are most numerous. I live in a loft in Chelsea and I have helped numerous clients buy and sell lofts in Downtown Manhattan.
Pied-a-terres require special attention because, in New York, not every building allows a buyer to purchase an apartment as a second home. I have the experience of working with clients in the pied-a-terre market and can help steer buyers in the right direction when looking for a second home in the City.

Agent's personal statement
As part of an innovative new generation of Manhattan real estate agents, I take customer service seriously. That dedication to my clients -- combined with my unique style of professionalism and my ability to listen and understand buyers’ and sellers’ needs -- distinguishes me in the marketplace. Clients appreciate my thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and knowledge of the Manhattan real estate market.
Originally from Atlanta, I earned my undergraduate degree at Auburn University before receiving my Masters of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. Prior to entering the real estate profession, I practiced accounting as a Certified Public Accountant before joining a Fortune 100 company, where I managed executive professional development and university relations. Having now worked in real estate, marketing, communications and advertising for more than a decade, I have developed exceptionally strong negotiating and marketing skills, which are essential to ensuring the best possible outcomes for my real estate clients.
Along with my golden retriever, I am an owner and resident in one of Chelsea’s most desirable new condominium developments. My love for the City and my energy, excitement, and “Customer-Centric Philosophy” combine to make the buying and selling process both easy and enjoyable. If you are considering a purchase, sale or just want to know more about the Manhattan real estate marketplace, then contact me for all of your real estate needs.

Our summary of
Michael Murphy
"Mike is originally from Atlanta and brings the qualities of a true Southern gentleman to NYC real estate. Mike was a successful real estate broker in Atlanta before moving to NYC. Mike is smart and analytical, and is very serious about his business. He's also tireless and will do whatever it takes for a client. Mike is a CPA, so he obviously brings financial skills to the table which is important for clients looking for help in understanding co-op financials, condo developer viability, and investment returns. He's more laid-back than the average New Yorker, but a very good listener."
